Register for the 25th Swan Conference
25th Swan Conference registration is now open!
Join us for an information-packed, educational and fun three-day event in the beautiful and natural resources-rich area of Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
The theme for this year's conference is “Swans, Confluences and Rivers... Connecting People” This theme holds special significance as Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary is an important wintering area for Trumpeter Swans restored in other midwest states.
The Conference registration includes "Registration" (presentations on Tuesday and Thursday), Field Trip, and Gala Banquet.
Presentation Registration fees include:
- Monday Meet and Greet hospitality (cash bar)
- Access to all conference sessions and workshops on Tuesday and Thursday
- Printed conference program
- Poster presentation
- Lunch, and coffee and light refreshments Tuesday and Thursday
The Field Trip and Gala Banquet fees are not included in the Conference presentation days registration fee and are separate fees on the online registration form. There is no Early Bird discount for the Field Trip and Gala Banquet.
The conference opens on Tuesday, November 19. The conference includes two full days of presentations on Tuesday and Thursday. The registration fee includes lunches and morning and afternoon snacks on presentation days.
An optional all-day Field Trip on Wednesday will be a wonderful opportunity to see hundreds of trumpeter swans in overwintering areas as well as experiencing these unique floodplain habitats at federal refuges, sanctuaries and state conservation areas. We will travel along the Great River Road through the river bottoms, which will provide us with scenic views of the rivers and the unique river communities that exist along the river’s banks.
Riverlands will be the last stop of the day and we will enjoy a great sunset at the Audubon Center at Riverlands watching trumpeter swans come back into their evening roost. Sunset is at 4:44 pm this day and swans by the hundreds return to the sanctuary from local feeding grounds every evening. A social reception will be held at the center with hors d’oeuvres and drinks provided. At approximately 6:00 pm the bus will return to the hotel. For those that would like to stay longer a local shuttle will be provided.
The field trip also includes lunch. Full Itinerary
Following oral presentations and a poster session during the day, the Thursday evening Gala Event includes a delicious buffet dinner, award ceremony, and a fabulous silent auction. Cash bar.
