The Trumpeter Swan Society Restore - Expand - Protect - Advocate - Involve - Rebuild
The Wyoming Wetlands Society, in collaboration with filmmaker Diane Birdsall, has produced a 12-minute educational video, "The Trumpeter Swan: A Restoration Project". An introduction to the Trumpeter and its wetland habitat, this film documents courtship, mating, display, tip feeding, paddle feeding, and foraging. It follows a pair of swans and their two cygnets from day one of hatching out through 16 weeks of age when they learn to fly. This inspirational video is suitable for adults and children, alike.

The Wyoming Wetlands Society and The Trumpeter Swan Fund were formed to help restore a breeding and migrating population of Trumpeter Swans to Wyoming. The cooperative private and state program is a template for partnerships in species restoration efforts. Working with private landowners, the Society is identifying and enhancing wetlands to attract and host nesting trumpeters. Previously injured, rehabilitated swans are placed in suitable habitat with compatible mates and young from those pairs are used in restoration efforts throughout the state. Volunteer opportunities exist year-round to help with swan feeding and related necessary swan work.
