5th Annual Port Susan Snow Goose & Birding Festival

Tundra Swan Watching Week

Governor Edward Rendell has designated the week of March 7-13 as "Tundra Swan Watching Week" to encourage people to view and enjoy Tundra Swans as they migrate across Pennsylvania on their way north to their arctic breeding grounds.

Tundra Swan Celebration

Usk, Washington, March 20, 2010
Hundreds of swans migrate through the Pend Oreille River Valley in February and March on their trip to their breeding grounds. They rest and feed on Calispel Lake, designated an Important Birding Area. TTSS member Martha Jordan will speak at this event. The celebration witnessing this beautiful spectacle is co-hosted by the Natural Resources Department of the Kalispell Tribe of Indians and the Pend Oreille River Tourism Alliance (PORTA). Lunch is included with registration.

5th International Swan Symposium

Valdivia, Chile, November1-5, 2010
The meeting, co-hosted by Universidad Austral de Chile will take place on the University campus. The symposium will feature four days of contributed scientific papers, posters, invited speakers, symposia and workshops; evening events. Field trips during and after the symposium will showcase the Rio Cruces region and its Black-necked Swans and other wetland avifauna.
